About Bobby
The richest parts of life come from the experiences we share. My family has long carried this belief close to our hearts, choosing memories over possessions, moments over materials. Our travels took us across many places, and along the way we discovered a passion for good food and great wine, and the people and stories behind them.
In Europe, chance led us to small family-run wineries that had been crafting wines for generations. Their passion was inherited, running through their veins like the lifeblood of their land. We tasted their wines, listened to their stories, and felt something shift within us.
What moved us most was their devotion to craft: unique wines made with minimal interference, native yeasts, and patient aging in old cellars. Among them were sparkling wines crafted with time-honored traditional methods that embrace second fermentations in the bottle, long aging on lees, hand riddling, and a patience that imbues each bottle with depth and soul. Guided by intuition and tradition, these winemakers produce limited quantities each year, a reflection of their families’ commitment to quality over volume, and their respect for the natural rhythm of the vineyard and its terroir.
When we brought those wines back home to share with friends, I saw the same spark of joy within them as we felt in those cellars. Experiencing that delight of something truly delicious and expressive, we discovered something remarkable that connects all of us together across different places, cultures, and moments in time. And so, Bobby Wines was born with a simple purpose: introducing a thoughtfully curated selection of artisanal biodynamic producers to India.
For over two decades, my professional life has centered around custodianship: caring for what is valuable and earning the trust that comes with it. That same spirit now anchors the “second innings” of my life. At Bobby Wines, I see it as my responsibility to represent my growers with honesty, to care for each bottle uncompromisingly as it travels from their cellars to our tables, and to share their stories with the same devotion as our producers put into their craft.
